As the authors of the software we are not reliant on anyone else, giving us the freedom and flexibility to enhance and amend our package to meet the needs of the retail market and the specific needs of our customers. This can be achieved quickly and with the minimum of bureaucracy.
We are also free to interface to other systems where necessary, such as Sage Accounts, SAP, etc.

His simple but insightful statement is particularly relevant to IT systems, an area where companies are often reluctant to make change for perfectly understandable reasons. However, sticking with an outdated, clunky and, perhaps, poorly supported system can be harmful and ultimately costly to the business.
In our experience there are four things that tend to hold back businesses from changing their Retail Management systems to run under our acclaimed WinRetail package, these are:
The prospect of the upheaval
Time needed to train staff
The conversion of data from old to new
The investment needed to make the change
So far as the first two are concerned: we have a great deal of experience in planning and implementing change. The process is gradual, with the minimum of disruption to daily business, there’s no drama just an orderly transition whilst training is geared to suit the needs of your company, so saving time.
We are well versed in the process of moving data from third party systems across to WinRetail and have software conversion tools to assist.
The final ‘sticking point’ is, of course, cost: we can help with this by spreading payment over 3, 4 or 5 years. Furthermore, it may well be possible to utilise some or all of the existing hardware.
So perhaps it’s worth thinking about changing your Retail Management systems before you have to.
