Klondyke’s 3 Peaks raises over £12,000 for charity

Sun, snow, rain, wind, tears and laughter were all experienced as Team Klondyke took on…. and smashed…..their 3 Peaks Challenge.

The Challenge involved hiking up (and down!) Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, the 3 highest peaks in the UK and had been organised to raise funds and awareness of three charities close to the hearts of the team members – Cancer Research UK, the Greenfingers Charity and the Multiple System Atrophy Trust.

The team, comprising of members of Klondyke’s Garden Centres and Head Office staff, helped to make it all happen and raise over £12,000 in the process.

On 3rd April the team took on Snowdon, in Wales, which stands at 1085m, Scafell Pike, in England, which is 978m was climbed on 16th May and finally on the 13th June, the team made their way up Ben Nevis, in Scotland, which is 1345m.

David Yardley, Chief Executive at Klondyke, discusses the challenge and how the company came to participate:

“The Three Peaks Challenge is a great test of determination and I’m proud to be part of the team that completed it. I would like to thank all those who took part in the event, giving up their valuable time to help raise so much for charities close to everyone’s hearts. Thanks again for everyone’s time, good humour and the effort put in to raising this fantastic sum of money for charity.”
